2014 Eppright Award Recipients

Every year a Baylor Medical Student is given the Eppright Award for his or her assistance in Orthopedic Research. This award is given to a Baylor College of Medicine student whom the faculty feels has made an outstanding contribution to Research within our department over the past year. The Departmental Research Committee selects one of these students to receive a plaque and a check for $500 which, is awarded during the Scientific Program on Graduation Day. All other students who have contributed to our research are given an award certificate.

This year the Eppright Award was given to two recipients, Kristy L. Hamilton and Ardavan A. Saadat for their outstanding contribution to Orthopedic Research.

"It was such an honor to receive the 2014 Eppright Award! Engaging in research in hand surgery has been an absolute highlight of my medical career, and it was all possible thanks to the dedication to teaching and mentorship of the Baylor faculty I had the pleasure of working with."

"I feel honored to be this year’s recipient of the prestigious Eprright Award, particularly among many of my peers who have equally shown outstanding achievements in orthopedics research. I have had the privilege to work closely with renowned Dr. Noble and the engineers at the IORE, where I have gained invaluable knowledge in biomechanical research. I’m proud to have been involved with research projects that will undoubtedly impact clinical decisions and operative techniques in orthopaedics."
